Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine

In 1952, a group of visionaries founded the University of Miami School of Medicine. Though one of the youngest medical institutions, the School of Medicine has earned national acclaim for education, research, clinical care, and biomedical innovations, establishing the University of Miami and its public partner Jackson Memorial Medical Center as one of the best academic medical centers in the nation.

The School of Medicine’s 1,000 full-time faculty members plus an additional 400 research personnel conduct clinical and basic science research crossing all disciplines from epidemiology and pediatrics to HIV/AIDS, psychiatry, the neurosciences and cancer. Together, faculty, physicians, scientists, and medical students strive to provide state-of-the-art health care as well as develop cutting-edge research and technological advances.
