Jennifer Stearns Buttrick
Board of GovernorsJennifer Stearns Buttrick is Of Counsel to the Firm Stearns, Weaver, Miller, Weissler, Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A., and Director of Pro Bono and Community Involvement. Prior to taking on this role, she practiced in the litigation department, where she handled commercial litigation at the trial and appellate levels in both state and federal courts, and administrative actions in the State of Florida.
Buttrick received her undergraduate degree in Spanish and History from Florida State University and spent a semester at the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain, where she developed a proficiency in Spanish. She earned her J.D. with honors from Florida State University in 1994 and was admitted to the Florida Bar, Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and Southern District of Florida that year.
Buttrick serves on the Sylvester Founders Board and was the 2009 Designed for a Cure Event Chair. Buttrick's other affiliations and recognitions include: trustee, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden; board member, Junior League of Miami Foundation; attorney ad litem, Lawyers for Children America; national board member, Chair of the Regional Leadership Counsel; board member, The Reclamation Project; notes and comments editor, Florida State University Law Review; Voices for Children 2009 Corporate Leadership Award recipient; and Junior League of Miami 2006 Rebecca Herndon Bush Award recipient.
