William O’Neill, M.D., recently joined the UM/Sylvester Board of Governors after becoming executive dean of clinical affairs at the Miller School of Medicine. O’Neill is responsible for clinical operations at the school, and serves as a professor of medicine and a member of the division of cardiology. O’Neill comes to the University from William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, where he served as director of the division of cardiovascular disease, a position he held since 1987. O’Neill was previously director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, and associate professor of medicine at the same school. He is a renowned interventional cardiologist, clinical investigator, and innovator.
