Where can I go for screening and diagnosis for breast cancer?
Sylvester has a state-of-the-art radiology department and provides a full range of screening and diagnostic mammograms. When a patient is diagnosed with breast cancer, the patient can seek a second opinion with one of our breast cancer specialists. How do I schedule an appointment with a breast cancer doctor?
The first step in getting care for you or someone you love who has cancer is to call Sylvester and ““Ask for Ana”:/ask-for-ana.” Ana Espinosa and her team of cancer care coordinators will arrange your first visit with one of our cancer specialists. You also can make an appointment with one of our breast cancer specialists by filling out our secure online appointment form. Once you have submitted the form, you will receive a response by telephone within one business day.
Do I need a doctor referral to make an appointment at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center?
Patients can call for an appointment without a doctor’s referral. Once an appointment is made, the patient is responsible for obtaining an insurance referral, if required by your health insurance plan.
What research is being conducted at the Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute at Sylvester to find new treatments and ways to prevent cancer?
Sylvester currently has many clinical trials underway with the goal of finding newer and better treatments for breast cancer as well as preventing the disease.
