Cancer Link Luncheons

Founded in 1987, Cancer link is a volunteer organization dedicated to the eradication of breast cancer research, education, early detection and community outreach at the Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Throughout the years Cancer Link has been able to raise over $1 million for this important cause.

In its twenty years, Cancer Link has raised over $1 million to support breast cancer research at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Since its inception in 2002, The Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute at UM/Sylvester is growing strong in size and scope. It has made tremendous advances and real progress in building an integrated research and treatment environment. The Institute is already bringing laboratory advances to the bedside and creating vital new options for our patients.

Sylvester opened as a dedicated, comprehensive cancer center in 1992 and today serves as the hub for cancer-related research, diagnosis, and treatment at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Sylvester handles more than 2,000 inpatient admissions annually, performs 3,500 surgical procedures, and treats 4,000 new cancer patients.

All Sylvester physicians are on the faculty of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, South Florida’s only academic medical center. In addition, Sylvester physicians and scientists are engaged in 150 clinical trials and receive more than $30 million annually in research grants.
