On Nov. 6, 2014, Chico’s proudly presented The WellBeingWell Conference, a community education day hosted by Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami. The conference features keynote speakers, concurrent breakout sessions, and panel discussions covering a wide variety of timely cancer issues, including: men and women’s health, genetics, clinical trials, cancer survivorship, preventative healthcare, nutrition, exercise, skin care, and achieving a healthy lifestyle. Physicians and scientists from Sylvester, lead and facilitated presentations and panel discussions. Throughout the day, speakers and moderators offered real-life examples of the importance of the mind-body connection in achieving and sustaining good health.

Tickets were $125 and included a diverse cross-section of the community including cancer survivors, care givers, as well as community, civic and business leaders – anyone with an active interest in learning more about cancer and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

As the only academic cancer center in South Florida, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is in a unique position to lead, offering an integrated, educational approach to achieving a healthy lifestyle to the community it serves.

The 2011 WellBeingWell conference was sponsored by Chico’s and took place April 26, 2011 at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami. It featured keynote speakers Donna E. Shalala, Ph.D., president of the University of Miami and former U.S. secretary of Health and Human Services, and Andrew Weil, M.D., world-renowned leader and pioneer in the field of integrative medicine. Emmy-award-winning TV news anchor Jackie Nespral of NBC Miami closed the conference luncheon.

The conference was hosted by Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and featured concurrent breakout sessions and panel discussions led by Sylvester medical professionals and experts.
