Biography

Tammy Baxter, MD is a board certified thoracic surgeon. Her research is focused on screening for lung cancer with aim toward improving thoracic surgery outcomes and medical disparities for lung cancer treatments and survival. Her special interests encompass all aspects of the surgical management of general thoracic surgery. This includes a wide spectrum of thoracic diseases including lung cancer, tracheal and bronchoplastic procedures, esophageal cancer, pulmonary metastases, benign and malignant pleural diseases, mediastinal tumors and chest wall tumors. She has extensive experience in minimally invasive thoracic surgery for both benign and malignant diseases of the chest, resection of advanced intrathoracic tumors and reoperative thoracic surgery. Dr. Baxter's interests are in the early detection and treatment of lung cancer along with a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of thoracic neoplasms.
