Biography
Dr. Ammus is a graduate of the American University of Beirut in 1982. Following the completion of his Internal Medicine training, he joined the UM/JMH where he completed his Fellowship in Hematology. He also completed a year of fellowship in blood banking at the South Florida Blood Bank.
Having obtained his Board certification in Internal Medicine and Hematology, he returned back to the Middle east, where he has been in Hospital based practice, and treated both benign and malignant hematologic conditions. Because Sickle Cell and Thalassemia are very common in the Middle East ,those two diseases became a major interest to him.
He has now joined the University of Miami as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine where he will be treating patients with benign and hematologic conditions.
