The goal of the one-year Urologic Oncology Fellowship is to offer a trained urologist a sufficient number and level of surgical experiences from which he or she can acquire advanced skills in the management of patients with genito-urinary cancer. Dr. Soloway strongly believes that his practice must have a sufficient volume and variety of oncology cases to meet the needs of fellowship training without compromising the quality of the residents’ training in the general urology program.
One of Sylvester’s goals is to provide an environment for academically oriented physicians that will enable them to develop into future leaders in clinical investigation and teaching. To that end, the Clinical Oncology Fellowship directors worked together to develop a curriculum of core competencies and broad-based lecture topics on clinical, basic, and translational research appropriate for all oncology fellows.
