Annual Zubrod Memorial Lecture & Cancer Research Poster Session

On May 21, 2010, Sylvester sponsored the 11th Annual Zubrod Memorial Lecture & Sylvester Cancer Research Poster Session in honor of its founding director, Charles Gordon Zubrod, M.D. The 2010 Distinguished Lecturer was Mario R. Capecchi, Ph.D., 2007 Nobel Laureate in Physiology & Medicine. Dr. Capecchi is Co-Chairman, Department of Human Genetics, Howard Hughes Medical Institute at University of Utah.

Each year, the Zubrod Memorial Lecture is held in association with the annual cancer research poster competition. The goal of this event is to provide a competitive stimulus for creativity in research and an opportunity for the exchange of ideas. Faculty, fellows, postdoctoral trainees, graduate and medical students are encouraged to participate by attending the lecture, presenting a poster, and by viewing the posters of their colleagues. The 2009 Sylvester Cancer Research Poster Competition had six winners in Clinical Research and Basic Science Research.
