Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach Showcases International Cuisine at its Annual Wine & Food Classic

In collaboration with Sub-Zero/Wolf and Food & Wine magazine, Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach proudly presents its annual Palm Beach Wine & Food Classic, October 21-22, 2006. Showcasing “global cuisine” at its finest, guests will sample the culinary specialties of Executive Chef, Hubert Des Marais (named one of “America’s Ten Best New Chefs” by Food & Wine magazine and frequently seen on PBS’ “Great Chefs of the Southeast”) and his talented team, each expertly paired with some of the world’s most highly-regarded wineries, champagnes and spirits.

Participating winemakers, champagnes and spirits confirmed for the event are: Maison Louis Jadot, Merryvale Vineyards, Stags’ Leap Winery, Darioush, Frog’s Leap Winery, Swanson Vineyards & Winery, Robert Young Estate Winery, Martin Estate Winery, Taittinger Champagne and Van Gogh Vodka. Executive Chef Hubert Des Marais and his international team of Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach chefs – Ryan Vargas, Jason Van Bomel, Shahram DeContades, Damian Zedower, Albert Tanudjaja, Bryan Kohl and Jamon Harper – will highlight innovative cuisine from around the world including Hawaii, Indonesia, the Meditteranean, Southeast Asia and the U.S. (North Carolina and Florida, respectively).

The weekend’s agenda will include: a wine seminar series, a Chefs’ Challenge & Lunch, a cocktail reception featuring a silent charity wine auction and a gala dinner on Saturday; and a champagne brunch on Sunday. Participation is priced per event and as a package. Individual events range from $50* to $225* per person; the event package is $585* per person. **Monies raised from Saturday’s silent charity wine auction will be donated to the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. UM/Sylvester opened in 1992 to provide comprehensive cancer services and today serves as the hub for cancer-related research, diagnosis, and treatment at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. UM/Sylvester handles 1,400 inpatient admissions annually, performs 3,000 surgical procedures, and treats 3,000 new cancer patients. All UM/Sylvester physicians are on the faculty of the Miller School of Medicine, South Florida’s only academic medical center. In addition, UM/Sylvester physicians and scientists are engaged in 200 clinical trials and receive more than $31 million annually in research grants. UM/Sylvester at Deerfield Beach recently opened to better meet the needs of residents of Broward and Palm Beach Counties. This 10,000 square-foot facility at I-95 and S.W. 10th Street offers appointments with physicians from six cancer specialties, complementary therapies from the Courtelis Center, and education and outreach events.
