World Cancer Day Message from Dr. Stephen D. Nimer
I hope you will join me in taking a moment today, February 4, to recognize World Cancer Day. It’s a day when people all over the world are united toward one goal: supporting the fight against cancer.
Here at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, fighting cancer is our focus every day of the year. Our teams of researchers and physicians work tirelessly to better understand each person’s cancer and to develop more precise treatments; we do that with your help and support.
It seems appropriate that World Cancer Day comes just days away from our fifth annual Dolphins Cycling Challenge, which has raised nearly $7 million since it started in 2010. This two-day, tri-county event provides critical funding for the cutting edge research we are conducting here in South Florida for the benefit of all our patients.
So on this World Cancer Day, I encourage you to show your support in whatever way you can to the mission Sylvester is undertaking in your community every day. Please go to ridedcc.com today and make a donation to the Dolphins Cycling Challenge. Every dollar donated goes to fund research at Sylvester.
Thank you for your continued support. I hope to see all of you this weekend!
Stephen D. Nimer, M.D.
Director, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center
