The 9th Annual MD/PhD Student Research Symposium will be held on Thursday April 6th, 2017. The Keynote speaker will be UM alum Wafik El-Deiry, M.D., Ph.D. (’87), Deputy Cancer Center Director, Translational Research Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
Dr. El-Deiry leads the Fox Chase translational research efforts and continues his work in the world of translational drug discovery and development. Dr. El-Deiry is a practicing physician-scientist who sees patients with colorectal cancer and whose research laboratory focuses on developing novel therapeutics targeting cell death pathways.
The event will include a Keynote Talk by Dr. El-Deiry, MD/PhD Student Scientific Talks and Poster Session.
