Project CARE: Cope Adapt Renew Empower
Project CARE was created specifically to support black women who are moving into a new phase of their lives by surviving breast cancer. We offer free stress management and wellness education in a comfortable group setting. No medication is administered or offered in this program.
All information shared with our professional team is treated with the strictest rules of confidentiality. Group sessions are conducted in a private, respectful, and discreet manner.
In addition to free group sessions and the joy of knowing that this effort may someday improve breast cancer treatment for many other black women, women selected as eligible participants receive up to $500 in compensation for completion of the program.
If you meet the following eligibility criteria and are seeking a healthy new perspective for life, please join us! We are looking for black women (African-American, Afro-Caribbean or Haitian, black Latina, or black African) who:
- Are currently completing treatment (surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy) for breast cancer or have done so within the past 12 months
- Have no previous diagnoses of cancer
- Speak English fluently
- Are willing to attend ten 90-minute group sessions
- Are 21 years or older
