The Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute is recognized in the South Florida medical community as a major academic center for expert breast cancer consultation linked to state-of-the-art research. Our dedicated scientists hold the key to ultimately finding the cure for cancer. That’s why an aggressive campaign is currently underway to recruit additional physician-scientists to the Institute. This expanded team of scientists will help create multidisciplinary programs that offer new options to patients and increase the quality and quantity of the research we do.
Grouped into multidisciplinary research programs, which address important aspects of the cancer challenge, our scientists conduct research in the following areas:
This selection of programs is what makes Sylvester unique among the many fine cancer centers across the country.
Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute scientists who are conducting breast cancer-related research and serving as principal investigators on clinical trials are listed below. Scroll the list of scientists based on specialized research areas and click on the specific name for more information.
Clinical Researchers
Clinical research scientists are spearheading clinical trials in breast cancer genetics, prevention, imaging, pre-operative therapy, new surgical techniques, post-surgical chemotherapy and radiation, among other areas. In addition, new research is underway to improve mammography screening. To learn more about our clinical research scientists, click on a specific name below.

Social Scientists
The Institute’s team of social scientists study patient risks and behaviors to optimize breast cancer care. This includes the study of breast cancer patients in different ethnic communities to better understand how to educate our culturally diverse population regarding breast cancer screening, access to care, and to improve early diagnosis.
