Internal Review Board
Administered by the Human Subjects Research Office (HSRO) at the Miller School of Medicine, the University of Miami Institutional Review Boards (IRB’s) review all human subjects research conducted under the auspices of the University of Miami. The University IRB's also serve as the IRB of record for the Jackson Health System.
The function of these IRB’s are to ensure all federal, state, local, and institutional regulations concerning the protection of human subjects in research are adhered to. All human subjects research conducted by faculty, staff, and students of the University of Miami and Jackson Health System must receive IRB review and approval prior to commencement.
