With more than 200 physicians and scientists dedicated to cancer care and research, UM/Sylvester is leading the search for a cancer cure. Every day, our physicians and scientists within the cancer center’s 15 site disease groups and four multidisciplinary research programs, are discovering exciting new breakthroughs that are quickly transforming the way cancer patients are diagnosed and treated.

Scientists at UM/Sylvester are grouped into four multidisciplinary research programs— Biobehavioral Oncology and Cancer Epidemiology; Molecular Targets and Developmental Therapeutics; Tumor Immunobiology and Immunotherapy; and Viral Oncology.

Treatment Approach
UM/Sylvester uses a targeted, “site-based” approach to treating cancer. This means that dedicated, board-certified physicians with expertise researching and treating specific cancer sites oversee patient care.
