Wen Liu, M.D., Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Epidemiology & Public Health
Description of Research
Dr. Liu's research interests are to identify genetic components and their interactions with environmental, and lifestyle factors in cancer etiology, and response to therapy and prognosis. Her recent work involved studying associations of genetic variants in NF-kB, DNA repair pathways with breast cancer and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, dietary nutrients including fat, protein and fatty acids in the development of NHL and colon cancer. She led a project to identify genetic variants in androgen/estrogen pathways, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), and short tandem repeats (STR) in association with biochemical recurrence and survival in prostate cancer.
