Meet the Team
Toumy Guettouche, Ph.D., Core Director
Toumy Guettouche, PhD, is the Core Director of the Oncogenomics Core Facility (OCF) at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. In addition to his responsibilities in the OCF, he is also the Head of the Small Animal Imaging Core. Dr. Guettouche has extensive experience in diagnostic assay development, real-time PCR, automation, capillary sequencing, microarrays and next-generation sequencing. He is an expert user of several bioinformatics data analysis platforms for microarray and real-time PCR data analysis. Dr. Guettouche holds a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Miami. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Potsdam in Potsdam, Germany. He is a former Fulbright Scholar.
Yoslayma Cardentey, Research Associate
Ms. Cardentey has experience in capillary sequencing, real-time PCR, tissue culture, protein expression, electrophoresis and Western Blot, as well as microarrays. She earned her bachelor’s of science in microbiology from the University of Havana in Havana, Cuba.
Loida Navarro, Research Associate
Ms. Navarro has experience in capillary sequencing, real-time PCR, tissues culture, DNA isolation from blood sample, methylation studies , electrophoresis, as well as microarrays. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology from the University of Havana in Havana, Cuba.
