Microarray

The OCF Microarray Service provides transcriptional profiling with arrays and protocols using the Illumina BeadChip technology. Current assays include RNA expression analysis for samples from human, mouse or rat and analysis of degraded RNA using Whole-Genome DASL Chips (human samples only).

Technology

Illumina BeadStation 500GX: This bead array system is used for DNA, RNA, and epigenetic analysis to support research efforts focused on inherited genetic markers and biomarkers that may predict cancer risk, treatment response, and clinical outcomes. Main applications by end-users include genotyping assays, LOH/DNA copy number tools, DNA methylation detection, and gene expression assays.

Scigene Little DipperĀ® Automated Microarray Processor: The Little Dipper Processor for Illumina is a programmable robotic system that replaces the multistep manual process normally used for post-hybridization processing of Illumina BeadChips. BeadChips are reproducibly washed, blocked and stained by a combination of up/down agitation and stir bar vortex action. The final drying step is automatically performed in an integrated centrifuge.

Tecan Evo Robotics Platform: This robotics platform is used in the automated staining procedure for the Illumina Infinium II whole genome genotyping assay.
