The Onco-Genomics Shared Resource is housed in the Biomedical Research Building (BRB). The Sample Processing Laboratory is classified as a Biosafety Level 2 containment facility and houses all equipment, supplies, and resources required for handling clinical and research specimens, processing samples for RNA and DNA extraction, as well as set-up areas for PCR, sequencing, and array methods.
The Molecular Analysis Laboratory houses all of the analytical instrumentation for real-time and conventional PCR applications, DNA sequencing, and fragment analysis and DNA array applications. The two laboratories are physically separated to reduce the potential for contamination and cross reactivity.
