Meet the Integrative Medicine Team
Ashwin Mehta M.D., M.P.H.
Dr. Mehta is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine and Medical Director of Integrative Medicine at Sylvester. He has fellowship training from the Integrative Medicine program at the University of Arizona, and his expertise includes sleep medicine, nutrition, exercise, yoga and mindfulness to achieve wellness in the context of coping with cancer treatments and prevention of recurrence. He has developed a patient-centered approach to health that includes periodic consultations with members of the integrative medicine team.
Lesley B. Klein M.S., RD, CSO, LD/N
Lesley Klein holds a B.S. degree in Nutrition from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in Dietetics from Florida International University. She has over 20 years of experience working in the field of oncology nutrition and is currently one of 22 registered dietitians in the state of Florida recognized as a Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition.
Stacy Cutrono, M.S., CES
Stacy Cutrono has a master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from the University of Florida and received her certification as a Cancer Exercise Specialist from the Rocky Mountain Cancer Rehabilitation Institute. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Miami with a focus on physical activity and wellness among cancer survivors. Her clinical focus aims at improving physical fitness, function and wellness among cancer survivors.
Vera Vasershteyn, A.P., R.M.D.
Vera graduated from Moscow’s medical school in 1972, specializing in neurology and acupuncture. Dr. Vasershteyn came to Miami in 1990, becoming a certified acupuncture physician in the United States as well. With her knowledge of eastern and western medicine, Dr. Vasershteyn brings the best of these medical traditions to her practice, and treats each patient with the utmost care, attention, and concern.
Rosa Beccera, MSOM, RDN, LD/N, CDE
Rosa Becerra-Soberon is the Manager of Nutrition Services at Sylvester and has over 20 years of experience in the field of integrative/functional nutrition. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida International University and a Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from Acupuncture Massage College in Miami. She is currently enrolled in the Clinical Nutrition Proficiency course from the Integrative & Complementary Academic Medicine Programs at the University of Miami. Ms. Beccera is a Certified Diabetes Educator and has studied Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Homeopathy, Homotoxicology, Colorpunture, and Reiki. Her clinical goal is to empower people to transform their health with foods by providing individualized nutrition care plans.
Stella M. Roy, MBA, RD, LDN, CNSC
Stella M. Roy is a certified nutrition support clinician, member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, and licensed by the State of Florida. She has been a member of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition since 1982, providing nutrition assessment, education and individualized nutrition support for patients in acute and long-term care facilities.
