Melanoma and Related Cancers
Our dedicated scientists hold the key to ultimately finding the cure for cancer. That’s why an aggressive campaign is currently underway to recruit additional physician-scientists to Sylvester. This expanded team of scientists will help create multidisciplinary programs that offer new options to patients and increase the quality and quantity of the research that we do.
Grouped into four multidisciplinary research programs, which address important aspects of the cancer challenge, our scientists conduct research in the following areas — Biobehavioral Oncology and Cancer Epidemiology; Molecular Targets and Developmental Therapeutics; Tumor Immunobiology and Immunotherapy; and Viral Oncology. This selection of programs is what makes Sylvester unique among the many fine cancer centers across the country.
Not only do our scientists work within these established research programs, they also work with physicians in Sylvester’s 15 multidisciplinary, site-based disease groups, to design and conduct the clinical trials necessary to test the value of new cancer treatments.
