Tissue Bank

We developed the Miami Brain Tumor Tissue Bank and Repository to share resources for brain tumor research with the much broader medical and research communities, by collecting clinical data and tumor/serum specimens from our patients. The tissue bank will be paired with a fully annotated, customized clinical database – and together they will form the backbone for current and future investigations.

With the patient’s consent, surgeons will collect tissue and we will establish an organized repository of characterized tissues for a wide range of studies. Clinical data from each case will be logged into a fully secured computer database and registry. Tissue received will be cataloged and referenced by a consecutive numbering system to ensure full confidentiality of the patients’ personal data. However, the broader medical and patient community will benefit fully from what we learn.
